Not sure what to say?

In August 1965, on the second night of the Watts Riots in South Central Los Angeles, I was injured as an off duty reporter and called Jimmy Lorenz from a friend's home to find transport back to my West Hollywood apartment. Instead, Jimmy took me to the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and stood by while I received care in the ER (later undergoing surgery). He was a noble good hearted soul and I will never forget him. RIP, Jimmy, with condolences to his family.--Mary Reinholz, New York City

Him was a special friend in high school, until he went onto Culver. Heard from in my junior-senior year. I knew he would have a very successful career. The last time I heard from him was when his Mother passed away. I sent a note and he responded. I still have it. A wonderful man. Prayers for family.

I knew Jim in high school, where I was a student at Okwood and he was at private school. He was extremely polite and we dated a few times. It was clear to me that he had higher dreams and ambitions and I'm very proud of the path he chose. He was truly self-actualized, and he chose the "road not taken". He made a true difference in the lives of the less fortunate. Kathryn "Kitty" Makley

Jim and IO were close friends for 74 years and a mutual admiration duo continually. As a fellow Daytonian I enjoyed his family reminiscences particularly of his beloved mother, Helen. He was so lucky to be loved by Guadelupe in his later years. My heart goes out to her. Fitz.

Miss the chance to see him again. He was such extraordinary Man that was there for all. The accomplishments that he had thru out California. Is a testament to his life. We all need to express our thanks to have know such a man and condolences to Family and especially to Guadalupe Lucio, his wife and true friend, who has always been by his side. Thank you my friend Jim from Orlando Bejarano.
