Ludewig, James F., joined the Lord on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Child of Regina (Wagner) and James W. Ludewig born in St. Louis, Missouri. Graduated from University of Missouri - Rolla with a BS in Civil Engineering and a MBA from University of Missouri - St. Louis. He enlisted in the U.S. Army upon graduation where he served in the Corps. of Engineers for two years. Upon discharge from the military service he returned to St. Louis where he took a job with the Illinois State Highway Department and later held a position with McDonnell Douglas until his retirement.
He was married to Margaret "Janet" Ludewig (Doyle) for 62 years when she preceded him in death in 2021. Janet and he were members of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church since the church was established. He and his wife were parents of Margaret "Peggy" (Mark) Schmidtlein and James "Jay" (Laura) Ludewig; dear grandmother of John Schmidtlein and Marley Schmidtlein, Megan Ludewig, Christen Ludewig, Ben Ludewig and Sarah Ludewig.
Jim was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Ballwin City Planning and Zoning Commission. He as an avid youth soccer and baseball coach, a competitive bridge player, a zealous tennis player and voracious reader. He loved playing golf and dropping pears of wisdom upon his grandchildren. His positive attitude towards life was an example for us all.
Services: Funeral Mass at Saint Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 15642 Clayton Rd, Ellisville, Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Interment is Private.
