Jim was a completely unique and unforgettable character who enriched my days in Tallahassee with his sense of humor, his love of Florida history and his just plain simple sweetness. I'm glad I never completely lost touch with him but our infrequent contact means I just discovered his passing. My condolences to his family and to all of those who will miss this dear man.

Jim gave me, a young and inexperienced artist the chance of a lifetime, to bring history alive as part of the Museum of Florida History family. I will be forever grateful and lovingly count him as one of the greatest of friends. In my heart and memories he lives forever with his unique artistic nature and constant warm smile.
