Not sure what to say?

Mr. Mac will always be in our hearts; he was an inspiration to the kids he taught and the families who knew him. My daughter was so fortunate to have had him as a teacher and an inspiration.

Mr Mac!!! That day you ripped into me I won't ever forget. You were right about everything Sir. And we were cool always afterwards. Because you are eternally a sensational Teacher. Like Hall of Fame.

Miss him all the time, especially with the Sox opening at Fenway. Such as special guy!!

Mr. Mac and I started teaching at McCall (junior high school at the time) in the same year in the early seventies and navigated those challenging first years together. I remember him as a fully devoted and passionate teacher who loved students. He was engaged in every aspect of the school community. My condolences to all of his loved ones and close friends. Jim was beloved by his students, not because he was an "easy" teacher, but because he was a dedicated, well-prepared teacher whom the kids respected. He was generous with his time, challenged the students to be their best selves, and offered many experiences related to the subject matter that turned out to be enjoyable and made kids think. My daughter would come home with stories about Mr. Mac, always positive.

Here was a man whom any of us would be proud to emulate. His legacy of teaching young lives so much more than textbook information lives on.

I have said this before, but it bears repeating: Children lucky enough to have had Mr. Mac for a teacher learned not only the material he presented but important life lessons: the value of honesty, hard work and persistence, kindness. Mr. Mac was a model for all of us but especially for teachers.

Jim was the kind of person who gave his all, regardless of what it was. He inspired so many students, including my own children, to do their best, whatever that meant for the individual. He was kind, compassionate, and well-prepared as a classroom teacher. We will always be grateful for his life and his sense of responsibility for making children's lives better.

Mr. Mac, you yelled at me so bad, I was mad then, now I am grateful. God Bless You Brother.
