Not sure what to say?

my dear friend Doug left a wonderful legacy. His memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Doug remains in my memory as a truly fine man. He was a Board member when I worked at Portland Parks Foundation and was always most generous with his time, his creativity, and his donations. I was and am struck by his enormous talent as an architect. I wish there were more Doug Macys in the world.

Following the eruption of Mount St. Helens in
1980, Doug, and his firm, Walker, Macy and Erickson, was part of our team that prepared an interpretation and recreation plan for the U.S. Forest Service. He was a delight to work with; full of humor, insight, and creativity.

The Plan was completed in August 1981 working together with knowledgeable and experienced members of the Forest Service. The Plan was carried out so that today the public can visit the visitor center along I-5,...

I know that the hearts of the Macy family and friends are filled with wonderful memories of joyful times with Doug as they prepare celebrate a life well lived. Long live the amazing legacy of James "Doug" Macy.

Thank you Doug for your wonderful contribution to the creation of the Oregon Vietnam Veterans (Living) Memorial. 'So long as we are not forgotten we do not die'

Doug and his family have been so kind and generous to the gallery in Madras. They have hosted fund raisers at their home to keep the arts alive in memory of their mother, who showed her paintings there years ago. Doug will be missed very much.

I am so sad to hear of Doug's passing. He was one of my long-time friends, and I have cherished memories of him when we were in high school. When I have returned to visit my beloved Oregon, I always spent time with Doug. He will now reunite with his Aaron. My condolences to his brother and sisters and all of the family he cherished.

Saddened to hear of the passing of Doug Macy. He was a dear friend, helpful to me when called upon. And a pleasure to work with on projects. His talent will truly be missed. Rest in peace, Doug.
