James J. Mallett

I just heard about Mr. Mallett. My sincerest condolences.

Mr. Mallett reminded me in so many ways of my own father. Although the communications were sparser as time went on, I cherished all my conversations with him for his insights, experiences, and mentorship. He truly played a significant role in my life and I have been, and will always be grateful that our paths crossed.

I have many memories of my time spent in his office, but I especially enjoyed the back and forth...

Jim was a colleague of mine at Pensacola Jr. College. After he started his own civil eng. firm, he supported the
founding of the PJC Engineering Club and was a guest speaker on several occasions. He was a strong supporter of engineering education. Many of my students were offered jobs at his firm. Bless you, Jim, for all the good work you did. Every time I drive by Scenic Terrace condominiums on Scenic Highway, I remember you and say a prayer for you. Rest in Peace, Jim.

I met Jim when I started working at Gulf Power Company. After our first meeting I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to help me understand and learn. I have and will think of him often.
