My Uncle and I had a rough start. He was honest and I was a teenager, enough said. Years later I saw the wisdom in his words. During a family reunion several years later he was able to meet my 2 oldest children. We were standing at Aunt Pam's house and he put his arm around me and said "You have a couple of really great kids." That was all I needed to know that I was doing a good job. He was a man that never felt like he had to say something. I know how important all of his kids were to him and how he raised them to be honorable, strong, and powerful people. I earned his respect and I will keep that forever in my heart. I will miss knowing that you are in this world making it a better place to be.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet white doves in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.

A Hopi Prayer by Mary E. Frye

I will see you in all these things forever my Brother.

Jim,I will always be honored to have known you and our time on the road in Oklahoma and all the great meals we shared. I could never eaten as much home made pie as you. I know you truly put your trust in God and lived your life that way, I will miss you as a true friend. Floyd Blackwell ( Ruidoso,NM)

He was my hero in youth, my hero now, & my hero when I'm old. I've never met anyone with the level of integrity & strength that my dad contained. Always loved, and never forgotten....

Remember

Remember me when I am gone away,
Gone far away into the silent land;
When you can no more hold me by the hand,
Nor I half turn to go yet turning stay.
Remember me when no more day by day
You tell me of our future that you plann'd:
Only remember me; you understand
It will be late to counsel then or pray.
Yet if you should forget me for a while
And afterwards remember, do not grieve:
For if the darkness and corruption leave
A vestige of the thoughts that once I had,
Better by far you should forget and smile
Than that you should remember and be sad.
