Dr. Marsters was a wonderful man. I lived with his family for 1 year in Pasadena when I was in 8th grade. He took me sailing, soaring and to the shooting range. He also was my orthodontist. I will always remember him and his family. Peri (Gottesman) Goodmanson

Dr. Marsters was my orthodontist in the late 50's & early 60's and came to Lone Pine often to visit his friend Dr. Dyer & Florence as well as serve many of the teenagers in our little town. Dr. Marsters was my orthodontist and came to Lone Pine often during the late 50's & early 60's to visit his friend Dr. Dyer and to serve many of us teenagers here in Lone Pine. I have such wonderful memories of my trips to Pasadena. He also became the orthodontist for my children & husband. After retirement he took time to visit me in Lone Pine just a few years ago. He always told me he named his daughter Jean after me. What a wonderful inspiration he was for all of us who knew him. ...

It is quite interesting to find out that James Marsters was born in the same hometown as I was; Norwich, NY. Like him I am also deaf and I had heard of him a number of times but did not know of the hometown tie until just now in his obit. I am currently an associate professor in the department of Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies at Fresno State. My condolences to his family.

Dr. Marster was a classmate of my father, Joseph Hyman (deceased), at the USC orthodontic department. My mother, Teresa Hyman, was a year ahead of Dr Marsters at USC. All the members of the orthodontic department from those years are like family. Dr Marsters was a special member of a very select group of orthodontists. My mother, myself and (I am sure) the rest of the USC orthodontic community feel deep sorrow at Dr. Marsters' passing. My condolences.

Dr. Marster's was my orthodontist when I was a kid in Pasadena. He knew my Dad from NYU Dental School, who was a dentist in Montrose (Abraham "Al" Helfenbein). We also lost my Dad about a year ago...Dr. Marsters was a great man who inspired us all. I would think of him many times over the years, as I married a woman who is an interpreter for the deaf, and active in the deaf community in our area (Sunnyvale, outside of San Jose). My condolences to the family, I knew Mr Marsters when he lived in Pasadena and always admired him as a caring and gentle man. He was always full of fun and a very quick wit, we will miss him.

I would like to send my condolences to the family. I have fond memories of my childhood spending time with you in Pasadena. Your father was a wonderful man and had great respect from my father who was his dear friend and colleage.
