Not sure what to say?

Jim was a tireless worker, at whatever task he undertook. He served as our 'Legislative Basketball Coach' while we were members of the SC General Assembly in Columbia.

Jim never met a stranger and was well liked by all.

Our heart-felt condolences go out to the whole Mattos family. in their loss. My wife, Marsha, was a graduate of Berea and played basketball for Coach Mattos. "Miss" Kitty, I was so saddened to see that Mr. Jim had passed away. I did not know him very well, but always liked him. I saw you and him together many times when I worked for Solicitors Billy Wilkins, and Bill Traxler. I surely know what you are feeling, as I lost my wife, a year ago, after we had been together for 60 years. My heart hurts every day. God's grace and love has been my comfort. May God make smooth the path before you in the days and months ahead. Your friend in Christ. RIP...
