MAVOR, James Harville, 87, of Waverly, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his home. Born on April 16, 1925; he was the son of the late James and Louise Harville Mavor. He was a lifelong resident of Waverly, where he was a watchmaker by trade and owned and operated James Mavor Jeweler and Mavor's Department Store. He was a member of the Astrea Lodge #246 in Waverly and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his beautiful, loving wife of 45 years, Mary "Chessie" Herbert Mavor; his son, Harville MacKenzie Mavor; his daughter, Mary Catherine Rooney and son-in-law, John A. Rooney Jr.; four grandchildren, James-Jacob Jason Mavor, Matthew MacKenzie Mavor, Connor James Rooney and Mary Audrey Rooney; niece, Louise Ezzell; and nephew, John Deekens. He was also preceded in death by his son, James Herbert Mavor; and sister, Catherine M. Deekens. The family will receive friends at the Wakefield Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, June 21, 2012 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Waverly Cemetery.
