Thinking about you, Cate Pat

My beloved James Joseph, It's been three years today since you were called to the angels and the loss is still so great. When someone you love becomes a memory, that Memory becomes a treasure. I love you forever my Treasure

I was shocked to read in an RIT publication that Jim had passed away. I met Jim at RIT my freshman year and couldn't agree more with all of the comments about his charm and wit. I knew Jim quite well back then and have memories of him being a great dancer back in the disco -days and a wonderful photographer. I enjoyed skiing with him in Vermont and having him try to teach me to meditate which he did on a daily basis in college. Jim was responsible for encouraging me to go to Cornell to...

When I think of Jim, I immediately smile and think of Cate because they were inseparable and such a loving couple as well as the best of friends. To Jims family, you have my prayers and condolences on the loss of Jim, he was a lovely man with a kind heart. To Cate, my heart goes out to you and am praying for you during this extremely sad time. I know you not only lost your partner in life but your very best friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Jim was a wonderful across-the-street neighbor to us. He showed up at our front door with flowers the day we moved in. He checked on me the day after I was hauled away by the rescue squad when I had a serious allergy attack. And he maintained surveillance on the town's road crew when they were repaving our street, making sure that they left the cul-de-sac better than they found it. We will miss him a lot.

To the McCarthy family and Cate. I wish to express my deepest, heartfelt condolences to all of you. I have worked with Jim for over 20 years. He was not only my employer; he was my friend. Jim was above all, a kind and generous soul and I will miss him terribly.
Sincerely,
Brenda Martin
