Not sure what to say?

Jim was a close friend for some 73 years. We met at Stanford and were both enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, though I was a year ahead of him at school. In recent years, after I had retired from Kaiser Steel, I had the privilege of serving as a consultant to Kaiser Engineers, working closely with Jim. He was one of the most decent and straight-forward people I have ever known. It was such a privilege to have known Jim ant have had him as a friend. I am so pleased that, thanks to...

To me im was a man of deep faith and a gentleman to the core. I always looked forward to seeing him at Knights of malta gatherings be it at Lourdes, San Francisco, Oakland. It is no exaggeration to say that because of him WW2 was shortened. Fr. John Kavanaugh

My grandfather and Jim McCloud went on that extraordinary journey from the Richmond shipyards to Kaiser-Fraser to IKA together. I was just a kid in our Argentina days, but "Mr. McCloud" was always a part of our family myths and stories and sense of why we were growing up in that astonishing place. Last summer I read correspondence between those two men from grandpa's archives and I was so struck by the respect and intelligence and friendship in Jim McCloud's letters. He was a fine, fabulous...

What a pleasure it was to talk to Jim McCloud!... being a participant and witness to some key moments in history, it was great to listen to his insights and perspectives. My sincere condolences to Kim and the entire McCloud family.

Its been a long time since I have seen any of the IKA crew, but the Argentina experience is one of the best of my life. I knew Jim McCloud at age 11, when my Dad, Bill Heard, moved us to Buenos Aires in June of 1955. I saw him save my brother's life, when he noticed that Neal had fell into the McCloud's pool and was sinking to the bottom. Jim deftly slid into the pool an retreived two year old Neal from the bottom and set him on the side of the pool. Neal hadn't even had enough time to...

To Kim I met your Dad at your birthday and again at Casey's wedding and the esteem and love you all held him was obvious. Sending love in this difficult time.

I set here in BA and so many great memories flood my mind. My Mon and Dad love Jim because he was such a great friend and a great person to work for and with. "A great Boss ".

What a life he lived, I am so happy I got to know him. He has now joined all of the people from IKA and I know they are having a good time.

I never met Jim until a 1997 reunion of Academia Arguello, in Dearborn. My parents always spoke very highly of him, and he spoke very kindly of my deceased Dad when we met. I have read Jim's book on IKA, and believe Jim's life had a great impact on the world around him. Best wishes to la familia del Jefe.
