Not sure what to say?

Found out yesterday about the death of my NSU history professor Dr. James McCorkle. The man was a fountainhead of knowledge on the history of Southern agriculture & its transportation. His lectures were vivid with narrative pulled straight out of commentaries by the very individuals involved in particular historical moments. He was a patient man, thoroughly grading our papers & taking the time to go over them with his students so they would learn to correct mistakes before they would...

Ms. McCorkle, I was very sad to learn that Dr. McCorkle passed away. He was one of my favorite professors at Northwestern. Please know that he was a wonderful teacher and gentleman. God bless.

Deann. I'm sorry to learn of Dr McCorkle's passing. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm very sorry for the loss of Mr. and Mrs. McCorkle. My name is P.Tousant, and I am a classmate of James "Wilson" McCorkle. We are in search of a family member whom Class of 1996 can pass on some memorbilia items. We just celebrated our 20th Year Class Reunion and wanted to honor James. I can be reached at [email protected] for more details.

Prayers are extended to the family!

Dr. McCorkle was one of my favorite professors at NSU. He challenged and encouraged his students and instilled his deep love of history in all of us. He was also a very a kind and gentle man.

What a true southern gentleman he was, indeed. He was also so kind and wonderful, both to his church family as well as DeeAnn and Wilson. I remember keeping Wilson in the nursery as a young toddler & how thrilled Jim was to be a dad. I am so sorry for your loss.

A wonderful human being! We will miss him.

Jim was a gentleman whom I admired
very much.my prayers go out to Deann

I had the privilege of knowing Jim as a teacher first and then years later as a colleague and friend. He was truly a scholar and a gentleman.
