We were together in the air force, sharing a bath and apartment. James drove Ethel and Laverne with babies Ken and Jerry Wayne to California in 1952. James and Laverne have remained very dear friends, and we are so sorry to hear of this loss.

I met James A. McCraw and Laverne McCraw in 1988 when he came to Brazil with aproject of the Baptist church in Alabama. Since then we esbalished contact by letter and email on a regular basis. I went to visit him in Alabama many years ago and could spend some weeks with him and his family. He was a very happy man and good heart. I got to know Mr. McCraw when he moved to Morning Side Assited Living in Madison. I was visiting my sister in law there and had taken my two dogs for her to see. Mr. McCraw saw my dogs and came over to visit with us and my "puppies" he called them. We sat on the porch for some time while he played with the puppies and told us about his life and that he had just recently lost his wife. Mr. McCraw was my supervisor at HAWK Project Office in 78-79 timeframe. A very good Christian man. Sorry for your loss.
