Not sure what to say?

To the McGuires;
Sorry to here of the loss of your dad. I remember him warmly from my first days with the CCSPD in 1963. Your dad was forthright polished guy during an era when there precious few men of his caliber around. You will always have that heritage and memory to carry with you through life.

He was a real gentleman in the true sense of the word and an inspiration to every police officer he had contact with in his career. He did mine.

Commander (Ret)
Chicago Police Department

Dear McGuire Family,

We so sorry for the loss of you Father. May you always remember that he is in your hearts and no one can take that away from you. I'm sure James is with the good Lord. And he smile down on you all. Keep going forward with all he taught you.
God Bless you all.

To "McGee's" entire family (that was our nickname for him in grammar school, and the way he signed his name in our autograph books back then)......

Remember, our departed father and mother are always with us.

Also, remember the centuries-old prayer: May perpetual light shine upon him. There's consolation in the knowledge it will.

Dear McGuire Family,
My sympathy to you all; we knew your dad was a real treasure way back in the old days on Henderson St. We will miss him.

Chris, to you and your entire family, please accept my deepest sympathies. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathy to the McGuire family. Our prayers are with you all.

My sincere condolences to the family of Supt Jim McGuire. I was the Chief of Police of the Village of Woodridge during the time that he was the Chief of the Cook County Sheriff's police and later when he was the Supt of the Illinois State Police. Jim was a firm believer in education of police officers and we worked together in getting the Law Enforcement Training Act into law.
