*JAMES ARTHUR McINTYRE *age 56 of Sturgis, Michigan died Monday evening May 7, 2007 at his home following a 5 month battle with cancer.

He was born October 28, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan a son to Charles & June (Scanlan) McIntyre.

Jim was raised and attended school in Taylor, Michigan where he graduated from high school with the class of 1968.

On February 20, 1970 he married Diane Jones in Inkster, Michigan.

Jim owned a paint and body shop while still in the Detroit area. He moved to Sturgis in 1976, with wife and 2 sons to raise his family in a smaller community and a slower paced life. He worked at Grumman Olson in Sturgis for 15 years. After Grumman he had several truck driving jobs and several supervisor jobs. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and fishing and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge. Jim had a great sense of humor and most people enjoyed that about him. His nickname was “Sunshine” when Diane met him he became the love of her life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Diane, married son John and his children, Nicholas, Joseph and Alexander all of White Pigeon, son Jesse and daughter Jennifer both of Sturgis, father Charles of Taylor. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, 1 brother in-law and several nieces. Jim also leaves behind an “extended” son, Timothy Pendleton.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the *Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home* of Sturgis. A graveside service and entombment will take place at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the Cadillac Memorial Gardens West, 34224 Ford Rd., Westland, MI.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Growing up Jen's family was my second family. I'll miss torturing Jim with my giggles and making him duct tape my mouth shut.
