Not sure what to say?

He was my favorite teacher and encouraged me to be a writer. I did let him know I had publish a book of poems and a novel.

Jim was loved indeed, for all manner of endearing qualities; his warmth, intelligence, great story-telling talents, propensity for laughter and living the moment. He is irreplaceable and leaves us with precious memories and a great deal of sadness. My sincere sympathy to all of his family.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. McKinley. Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

Jim was a friend and mentor. I owe my becoming a writer to his continued encouragement and expertise. His wry wit and smile always made my day when in his classes and when discussing writing in his office. I will always remember him and think of him fondly. I offer my condolences to his family, and to all who were close to him. Jim will be missed.

Mr. McKinley was my favorite teacher. He inspired me by telling me I was an imaginative and gifted writer. Because of his positive attitude, I became an English teacher and poet and writer of my family's stories,I also wrote a book " BACA" or Bikers. Against Child Abuse. He brought many famous poets to class, and I found that exciting. I know you feel the loss greater than me, but the Good and Keen family know how much I thought of him professionally. It was 1970 and yes, I remember...

I am so sorry for your loss. We are thinking of you and your family at this time.

I offer my deepest condolences to Glenda, James, Jr., Molly, Jesse, Gabriel, and Mary Ann McKinley and Melinda and Mike McCracy. Not only was Jim my mentor and adviser, he was friend, much like the older brother I never had. I am heartbroken, too, as I am sure you are. But he left an excellent legacy in his children. Bless all of you.
