I just learned a couple of weeks ago that Jim had passed away. Even though I haven't flown in several years, I appreciated Jim's demand for excellence. He taught me well and one day when I am able to afford to get back into this hobby, I know the lessons he taught me long ago will still be in my ear. Peace of Christ to your family.

To the McMakin Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Jim is someone who dedicated his entire life to the service of others. He is a true Patriot in every essence of the word. I consider myself blessed as I am one of the lucky ones to have had the honor to learn to fly from such a great professional. Bush Field will not be the same without Jim. He will be miss dearly.
To Jim,
Thank you for all of the lessons you taught me about aviation in the past 8...
