With condolences to your family. I apologize but I am trying to get in touch with James Jr. (Jimmy). If someone could ask him to call me I would appreciate it. My cell is the same 202-365-2954.

I recently found among a box of trinkets, a POW bracelet I wore in high school late 60s, in hope of his safe return, I'm so sorry he has passed. Please know I care and thank him so very much for his service to our country. I will keep it visible now always.❤

I am so sorry for your loss. I also wore a POW bracelet with his name on it and prayed for him and all your family. I was thrilled to hear of his return. God bless you all. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. My mother Martha Burgess Fowlie wore Capt. Mehl's POW/MIA bracelet during his days of captivity. I have the bracelet and will send it to you if you like.

On this Veterans Day, I thank him for his service and sacrifice and I thank his family for their service and sacrifice.

I am so sorry for your loss. My name is Christine. I had a POW bracelet in the 1970s. Capt. James Mehl is the name on the bracelet. I wore this bracelet and prayed for him every day for several years. While at my parents' home last weekend, I found the bracelet and googled him. I am so pleased that he returned to his home and family. If you would like the bracelet, I would be happy to mail it to you. My email address is [email protected]. Please let me know. Bless you all and Capt....

My condolences to the family. I worked with Captain Mehl when he was Project Manager for the A/TA4 aircraft and I was Contract Administrator at the Douglas factory. Enjoyed the experience very much!

Everything your loved one was...kind, honest, caring, wise, thoughtful, loving..lives on in the hearts of friends and family who will never forget. So sorry for your loss. May the God of comfort sustain you during your grieving process.

Jim was my XO and squadron mate on Hancock, VA-93. He was a great leader and excellent pilot. A tough POW and a wonderful Naval Officer. Fair skies and Rest in Piece, XO.
