Dr. Metts, one of the most amazing selfless men we had the pleasure to know!! Ill never forget on 6 south in 1994 meeting him as a new nurse one of the first things he said was, as a joke of course; make sure you stay healthy as an example for your patience. I dont want to see you years from now having to sit because youve gained so much weight; I know how you nurses have to eat.
Then there was our Wedding at his home, he made it so easy, so beautiful, he brought calmness and made it so...

Dr. Jimmy was just like a member of the Baxter Family and spent many days in Tarboro hunting with my parents, Walter and Sarah.( Pop and Sa) Dr. Jimmy spent many years making sure my dad taking was taking the best medications for his heart issues.I can remember them riding back to the house at dark with their" big kill" and grins on their faces...The highlight afterwards was a wonderful meal at the dinner table...Dr. Jimmy's favorite was fried venison....prepared by "SA". Dr .Metts was my kids Dr.and then he became my Dr for over 20 years he was a very sweet person he took very good care of you he going to be Missed .

What a wonderful kind hearted gentleman. I will never forget you. You were always there for me as a child and gave so much attention and love. I will miss you all of my remaining days. I love you Daddy.

To the Metts family you have my condolences i met Dr Metts when i started working at Candler hospital on 4 south his office was in the professional building always was verry polite and thanked for keeping his patients rooms clean. Dr Metts was a alsome dr verry nice man to his family i pray foryour streingth in GOD

I loved Dr. Metts. He was my physician for many years when he was in practice on Whitaker and Gaston Streets. I live in Bluffton but I would drive over to his office and he was always so pleasant and found out what my problem was and helped me. I realized a while back that he worked at a clinic on east broad street so i went over just to say hi. He was at lunch so i waited in the parking lot til he returned. We both gave each other a big smile and a hug and I had a chance to chat with...
