James Michael Stewart

                Mr. James Michael Stewart, age 50, of Rome, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, GA.

                Mr. Stewart was born in Bartow County, GA on May 19, 1968, son of James “Jimmy” Stewart and the late Patricia Porter Stewart.  He was employed in construction and in the textile industry at Galey & Lord for a number of years.  Mr. Stewart was of the Christian faith.

                Survivors include his daughter, Laura Stewart Green (Christopher), Rome; his son, Michael Brandon Stewart, Rome; 3 grandchildren, Hayden Stewart, Shaun Stewart, and Madeline Green, all of Rome; his father, James “Jimmy” Stewart (Debra), Alabama; the mother of his children, Stacy Wilbanks, Armuchee; a sister, Ellen Locklear; 7 brothers, Ronald Stewart, Kenneth Stewart, Robert Stewart, Shone Stewart, James Locklear, David Locklear, and Gary Moore; nieces and nephews.

                Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.  The Rev. Phil Wade will officiate.  Following the service, Mr. Stewart will be cremated.

                The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Friday from 12 noon until the service hour.  At other times, they may be contacted at their respective homes.

                In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Church at Northside, 75 North Floyd Park Road, Rome, GA  30165.
