My Uncle Jimmy was the sort of person who put everyone in a good mood by simply being present. When he walked into a room, we nephews and nieces would, literally, exclaim "Uncle Jimmy!" I recall doing it as a kid and my sister, Catherine, doing it at the age of 32 the night before the wedding of my brother, John.

To all of the Michaels family, As a child, I remember when Jimmy came to the door. He was a big man with a giant box of produce propped on one shoulder. He always wore a contageous smile. Why, just yesterday, I had loaded my produce order into a crate at the market to avoid the plastic bags. I thought of Jimmy Michaels as I hoisted it out of my car.
