In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Pops, you were always there for the kids. You coached my son, and always kept up with him. He and I will never forget you. I know your spirit will always be here for him and you will be that guardian angel to watch over him. You will be truly missed.
Stephanie Dorton (Richmond, CA)

James "Pops" Mitchell, you are a legend who has made an impact on many, many lives. I enjoyed watching your play on the field and you kept me laughing @ ECHS! Rest in Paradise with the Father, the Son, & His Saints!

May u rest in peace James POPS Mitchell...You will be truly missed...

"Pops was definetly one of the purest baseball players I ever had the privelige to play with or watch. He and his family always treated everyone like family. I always believed his parents were the driving force that made his heart so big. We reconnected a couple of years ago & I believed him to be doing well. This is a big shock to me & a big loss to us all. We must cherish old friends because our time is limited. I will miss you Pops." Mark Torres (Richmond, Ca.)

Pops was a true inspiration to us all, with his athletic abilities and so kind-hearted. He was an Angel. He will be missed but never forgotten. To his sister LaSonda, ECHS Class of 87 is with you and the entire family, you are in our prayers, Love ya'll..

James Pops Mitchell you will truly be missed, but this is not good -bye. This is just a so long for just a while. For soon we'll all be reunited when that day comes that God calls our names .
Thanks for all of the memories you graced us with , I'll see you soon !!! May God Bless & Watch Over Your Family ....
