Our sympathy goes out to all of Jay's family, especially his wife Sandra. There are no clever words that I can say that will make it better for now. Just know that grief slowly dissipates and the good memories will win out... the times of creativity and building, discovering 'new' antiques, the good times spent together. And know, too, that you will see him again on the other side, as God has promised, and that will be the best time together. Take care of yourself, and of each other...

I grew up with Jay as a child. He was my cousin. When we would go and literally blaze trails in the large lot of land behind my grandmother's house in Wisner, Louisiana, Jay dubbed the trail he blazed "the Ho Chi Minh trail." ( This was nothing political, it was just a popular name at the time. For trails.) Our granddaddy Mitchell thought it was hilarious, while he would watch Walter Cronkite report the news from Vietnam.
