One strike in particular in the "North" resulted in both us being shot up pretty good...but you should have seen the other guy... Jim and I were in the same A-1 class at Hurlburt in 1969, our port call dates were almost the same, we lived next door for a year, and we flew together several times. He was an outstanding man, the best pilot, and a real role model. The world is a lesser place without Jim Monk.

Jim and Shirley were my next door neighbors for several years. Both were special people, always willing to help, and perfect neighbors. Jim was a community leader, a military hero, and a Special person. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. God Bless and Rest in Peace Jim.
