Not sure what to say?

I was lucky to have Mr. Monroe as a teacher, a neighbor and the father of my best friend. He had an amazing dry sense of humor. He was a great English teacher and I loved his class. I will always remember him fondly. Melodie Houfburg-Baker, Clayton Idaho

My prayers to the family. Mr. Monroe was a true inspiration to all who entered his class. He was my English teacher at Kimberly High School in the 70's. I attended his art class for about 2 days then we decided art was not my thing!! He will be gone but never forgotten by so many.

Blessings,

I only attended Kimberly High School my senior year. Mr. Monroe's English class was both challenging and inspiring. His habit of putting one or two sentences or quotes on the black-board and then having us write an essay about one of the quotes has served me well. I have written 2 books of reflections based on "one line" inspirations. My prayers and condolences to the family.

Farewell to a good man and a great teacher. My dad was in the army in Hokkaido about the same time that Jim was there. He also was born in Buhl. My condolences to the family, especially to Ernie, KHS class of 73.

I attended school in Kimberly and graduated with Sheila in 1977. Mr. Monroe has always been remembered as one of my favorite teachers! It was tough getting him to smile and laugh, but when he did, you knew it was genuine! My prayers are with the family.

As a friend of his daughter-in-law, Mary, I only knew Jim through her descriptions of his story telling ability and card skills. It was evident that Ernie and his family truly enjoyed having him as a regular dinner guest and the impact and memories he helped create for grandson, Ted. I enjoyed reading of his history and pay tribute to his memory.

I had Mr. Monroe as my freshman English teacher as well as my senior English teacher! What an inspiration! You really had to pay attention to keep up with his sense of humor. He will be missed.
