Jim was a smart, strong and compassionate heart. I will never forget the way he beamed with pride at his daughter when she spoke at a university event. He sat there accepting congratulations in his stellar suit draped in Native jewelry and he was as noble as an elder but as giddy as any dad would be. There will be an empty seat at our Christmas dinner but whenever I turn on the chandelier he rewired for me, the light that shines will be a reminder of his illuminating spirit.
