Not sure what to say?

My prayers to Jim´s family. I knew Jim because his younger brother Joe and I were best friends in our early years. I spent many pleasant days and nights with the Murray and Kilmartins. You tried to keep me out of Nam Jim. But I went anyway.

To a great guy who was like an older brother even though we were not related. My prayers for my friend and Jim´s brother Joe, my best friend through high school and his children and grandchildren. Tom Gill

I'm sorry I haven't sent a condolence till now. James was such a great guy my dad William F. Barrett who passed away talked to Jim every night they had great talks about the war and the old times for hours. And he was there for his Brother Joe when Jimmy was in the hospital if someone could reach out to his brother that would be great. I found an old message on the answering machine of Joe wishing my dad a Happy father's day,.

Jimmy and Susan - I loved your dad. He was such a good friend for so many years - we worked together and after he retired we kept in touch texting when ND was playing - keeping up with family matters. We got together when the Oldermans were in town. Jim was a gentleman and one of the finest people I've ever had the honor to know. I will miss him so much. Jimmy - I'm the person who wrote to Ted Williams and got you a picture signed by him. Your dad was so pleased and knew you would be...

Single Memorial Tree

Never met Jim in person, but we were members of the same Notre Dame site for years so we got to know each other thru the site and exchanging hundreds of emails thru the years. Jim was a genuinely kind and humble man. He was like the big brother I never had. He's in heaven now.

Thank you for making everyone aware of Jim´s death. We were fellow members of ND Class of 1964 and I felt like we were good friends. Saw him once since graduation, at our 50 year reunion. He hadn´t changed. One of my memories is that Jim spent the first three years at ND complaining because his dad didn´t let him go to BC. He finally realized in his senior year that he was in a great place. A fun guy to be around. I´ll remember him fondly. Joe Theby. Evansville, indiana
