Not sure what to say?

My heart is heavy to learn of Jim's passing. My friendship with the Murtagh family goes back to 1967 when I first knew your Uncle Jim Gerity at Notre Dame. Through the years both Jim and Bill Murtagh's families have made me feel a part of your family and treated me so kindly. My deepest condolences to everyone in Toledo who will miss him so much.

Our sympathies to the Murtaugh family. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

To Janet Murtagh, Joyce and the rest of the Murtagh Family, I'm sorry for your loss. Mr. Murtagh was a very fine and decent man as like the rest of the family,he lived a very good life and God only takes the best. May he rest in piece and all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all. Gloria.

I am sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral but I really enjoyed reading the obituary and learning more about Uncle Jim. I will always remember his smile and how much he loved his family.

Like many people I met Jim at his family's Notre Dame tailgate. Right away he wanted to know everything about me and my family. Our young son was there and Jim asked him what type of books he liked to read. A few days later a set of books arrived for him at our home. That was Jim - always trying to do something for somebody else. He was the best.

I was very, very sad to hear of Uncle Jim's death. He was always so very good to me, to Karen, and to our children. I will always keep a warm place for him in my heart.
Hugs to all,
Ferd.
