Not sure what to say?

I still remember Mr. Neary as a loving and gentle man, strong, standing tall, with dark hairI don’t know if I have picture of him but I have enough pictures of the Romer’s playing games, outside, with the Neary gang. The Neary family is close to the Romer’s hearts. Mrs. Neary took care of us, just as she took care of her own children. We Love You Guys!

I met Jim when I worked in Human Resources at Children's Medical Center in the early 1980's. I ran into Jim a couple times over the years as I live in Kettering as well. Jim is the kind of person you never forget. I will never forget how down to earth and friendly he was to all. He was a kind and gentle soul with a big heart. My prayers and thoughts go to all his family.

Jim was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather - he will be missed by so many. I'm so happy my remaining sibs and our spouses could be all together with our families, one last time in the summer of 2019! rest in peace, brother! love, mike

Jim Neary was a soft spoken man I first met during his time at Children's, Dayton. His work at Children's Medical Ctr., and for the City of Kettering marked him as a man of service and dedication to his chosen pursuits, and he pursued them in his understated way. Years later, he delighted my family as Santa during at-least one Christmas gathering, doing the same for others around town as well. I regret I've not spoken to him in some time, but often think of him while driving near his home....

Will miss a wonderful person whom we as family loved very much. Our prayers are with the family.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

I remember when I moved to kettering in 1986, Both of my parents were divorced and I hadn't made any friends ,so one day I stop by the firehouse on shorter and Jim told me all about the firehouse and about my grades. I was an honorary member of station 5 Jim will be missed

Our families have been connected since I was a little girl. We were bonded by the Kettering Fire Department volunteer firefighters family. There is a bond between firefighters like no other. Jim Neary and my dad, Jim Shank always had each others back. The Neary's were a source of support for my family when both my parents were ill. Our hearts understand the void that is now in the your family. Jim will always be a part of the Shank family❣
With love and prayer ...

Marilyn & family..What a beautiful written obituary about Jim. It says it all. We always thought so much of Jim and yourself. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers in the coming days. Please take care of yourself.
