To Kim and the entire Nelson Family,
I did not know Jim, but graduated from STHS with Elizabeth and I wanted to let you know how very sorry I am for your loss. I recently lost my husband at the age of 44, another very young life taken too soon. I hope you are all comforted by the memories you hold dear in your hearts and continue to love and support each other thru these very difficult times and in the years to come.
My deapest sympathy,
Paula Margolis Rosen

Jim Nelson's Family,
I met Jim in fourth grade and spent some great times with him throughout High School. I will remember him always as a great person who looked for the best in people. We laughed a lot.

Kim, Jim and Sarah,
I’m at a loss for words so I wrote you this little poem:
The loss of a gold friend is still sinking in. The music, the laughter and goofing around. Time to grow up, not forgetting the past. Why did it all have to happen so fast? The kids have Dad in them, his blood will still flow. Carrying his goodness, in time it will show. Values he has left them, from this they will grow.
Jim will be missed, by more than you know!

Words simply cannot express how truly sorry we are for the loss of your husband and father. I am very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My deepest sympathies to his wife Kim, his kids, and his fellow STPD officers. Jim was truly a "cop's cop" and will be missed by all. He was a great mentor and friend for our short time together. Goodbye brother and God bless.
