James T. "Jim" Newport

A long overdue note to offer my condolences to the family and loved ones of Jim Newport.

For some reason today I googled Jim. Even though we only really knew each other for two years, (he was four years older than me) a feeling of such loss and sadness washed over me when this came up. We both lived on Buttonwood Drive in Parlin and worked together at McDonald's for 2 years (Jim was at Rutgers). Since we lived on the same street, he often gave me rides home at the end of our shifts...

Dear Jimmo, I just can't believe it has been five years already since you have been gone. It just seems like yesterday. I thought it would get easier, only a little. I still think of you a million times a day. I hope you all are having a great time up there. love and miss you soooo much. Love Mary

Dear Jimmo....It has been four years now since you left us. I thought it would get easier as time goes by, but it hasn't. Daddy has only been gone ten months, and I hope you guys are having the time of you life up there. I think of all of you a hundred times a day and miss you all so much. The tears are still there. Dear Jimmo, It has been two years that you left us. I can't believe how fast that time has gone. Everything is still fresh in my mind and I think of you everyday. Still the tears flow and always will.
We certainly missed you at your daughter Jessi's wedding in April.
We all flew to Orlando to see her get married.

I have been thinking alot about you recently.I want you to know that I am the way I am today because of all the good advice and support you always gave me.Sometimes I wanted to give up, but you would never let me and I will always be grateful for that! I am still not on speaking terms with God, but Tara is helping me along with her comforting words all the time.I can't wait to see you again,I miss you everyday!!!! I love you Jim!!

To my brother Jimmo, It was one year ago today that you went to heaven. It seems like yesterday. I think of you everyday and the tears still flow down my cheeks. There will always be a hole in my heart. I love you so much and you are soarly missed by all. Love ya, Mary

Jim,
You coached our daughter and touched our family. You not only shaped the way she plays soccer but the way she lives. Memories of you, your family and the Magic are woven into our family's history and we are eternally grateful. God Bless you for being a coach and beloved friend.
