James Newton Obituary
James Albert Newton, 69, a lifelong resident of Bethel, passed away on October 5, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born on May 4, 1947 in Danbury. His mother Dorothy, father Harry, and sister Veronica predeceased him. Jimmy is survived by siblings Edward of Bethel, Harry Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC, Barbara of King of Prussia, PA, and Dicky (Lynn) of Boca Raton, FL. Many loving nephews and nieces and their families also survive him. Jimmy served in the Army Reserves for two years.
Jimmy joined Armstrong Industries, Inc. with his best friend Jack DeFlumeri over 44 years ago. In 2010 they opened Cruzn' Laundromat together where Jimmy will be missed by all that knew him. Jimmy had too many lifelong friends to mention by name but you all certainly know who you are. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a loving, generous spirit with a sense of humor that will surely be missed. Jimmy enjoyed all sports and was an avid golfer.
There will be a memorial service in the future to celebrate Jimmy's life. Charitable donations may be made in Jimmy's honor to the American Cancer Society.

I still can't believe that he is gone. We had the best childhood growing up at Gram's house. He always held a special place in my heart. We all will miss him. Until we meet again I will hold him in my heart with all of our family that has gone before us. R.I.P. sweet cousin. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

So sorry for the loss of Jimmy ...way too soon! Barb, Eddie, Jugy and Dicky, the Davis family sends our love thoughts and prayers to all of you from Florida at this sad time. The Newtons were more family than friends and were the anchor for the Grassy Plain and Reservoir St. families. I remember playing pool with Jimmy and hanging out on your porch ...priceless memories. Thank You all so much for your beautiful memories and condolences for Jimmy.
He was more than a younger brother to me over the years he became my best friend. He was my "rock" morally and financially.

Eddie, Gidge, Barbie, and Dickie,
I am truly sorry for your loss
....remembering back to Reservoir Street, the hill to sled down at night, the roller skating around to and back from Parloa......Our sisters with our younger brothers and the "older brothers" having a blast......strange how when we lose someone who grew up with us, we recall those events we had stored in the back of our heads.....Jimmy's passing affects all of us.
