Not sure what to say?

Ruth I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death.I would not have known except my sister told me. For some reason you and he were on my mind last month and I was going to call to find out what was going on in Erie if I could get a number. I remember when you two were dating and we paled around with Dick Robertson and Jim Sopp.Hope you are doing OK and again I am sorry to hear this.

All the way home I thought about my Uncle Jim and how much I miss him already! He would be so tickled to read the lovely thoughts from his past student's..it would please him! My heart is full of love for my family, always. Love you, Uncle Jim, Aunt Ruth and my wonderful cousins.

I had Mr Nichols both as my principal and as my teacher for 5th & 6th grades at Belle Vally. I still live in the area, and I always think of him as I go past what used to be our school (I was in the last 6th grade class of the "old" school.) He was an excellent teacher, and he will be sorely missed.

I have fond memories of Jim while I served as principal of J.S. Wilson. He was a fine man that dedicated his professional life to trying to help the children of Millcreek. My deepest sympathy to his family.

To the Family,

Growing up in Millcreek in the 50s was like something from a TV show. Dad was at work, mom was at home, we could play outside until dark and people like Mr. Nichols were teaching us far more than what was in the textbooks. He was a wonderful, committed teacher who made learning special. He and his colleagues at Montclair created an environment that was comfortable, stimulating and even alot of fun. I have many memories of Mr. Nichols and of his son, and my classmate,...

Mr. Nichols was my 6th grade teacher at Montclair Elementary. He always wore a smile and was a compassionate man. After all of these years he is still one of my most remembered teachers and I use his life lessons to this day.

Our three children attended Ridgefield School and Mr. Nichols was a great principal. He was always kind and gentle with the school children.

Sorry to hear about your dad, paul,
I hope you and cheryl are doing well.

I REMEMBER MR NICHOLS FROM MONCLAIR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. HE WAS MY SIXTH GRADE TEACHER. THE THING I REMEMBER THE MOST WAS THAT HE MADE LEARNING FUN. HE HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER. I ONLY WENT TO MONCLAIR SCHOOL FOR THE SIXTH GRADE AND WE CHANGED CLASSES SO I HAD OTHER TEACHERS THAT YEAR, BUT HE WAS THE ONLY ONE I REMEMBER. I GUESS THAT IS BECAUSE HE WAS ONE OF THE BETTER ONES. HE WILL BE MISSED.
