James “Jim” O’Bara 66 years old of Rocky Hill died January 14, 2021 after a battle with cancer. 


Jim worked at Cedar Mountain Stone and Mulch until he became ill.  He enjoyed NASCAR racing, drag racing and watching UCONN girls’ basketball.  Jim was known to purchase a few scratch tickets yet never won big.  He was always ready for a good laugh.


Jim was survived by his brothers and their spouses, John and Lynn O’Bara of Rocky Hill; and Joseph and Cathy O’Bara of Haddam, nephew Joseph O’Bara, and niece and her husband Michelle (O’Bara) and Douglas Cadario and great nephews Bryson and Maverick Cadario, Riley O’Bara; and great niece, Eleanor O’Bara.


He was predeceased by his parents Anne (Morea) and Stanley O’Bara, and nephew Michael O’Bara.


There will be a graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill on January 22, 2021 at 12 noon.  Brooklawn Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
