I had no idea Mr. Oates had passed until I called about filing my taxes and the business number was disconnected. I am so sorry for your loss! What a wonderful gentleman. It was my great pleasure to be able to learn the finer points of life from him. He sure could spot a bogus story quickly.

I will always remember The Tax Man for his almost daily calls to 106.5 FM. He will be missed by many. The world was a better place for his presence and now the community of St, Michael's will bear the fruits of his labors. Well done, Tax Man. Rest in heavenly peace now.

My late father Herbert Segner knew Jim through membership-officer of Mobile Camellia Society and Gulf Coast Camellia Society. Jim prepared my mother and father's income taxes, and when my father died in 2002 Jim prepared the estate's taxes and then my family's.
