James Edward "Ed" Osborne, 60

Attica - James Edward "Ed" Osborne, 60, of Lafayette and formerly of Attica, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 6, 2016 at 12:44 a.m.

Ed was born in Lafayette, Indiana, on April 2, 1956. He was the son of Frederick E. Osborne and the late Patricia "Trish" A. (Anderson) Osborne. Ed was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1974. He received a Bachelors Degree from DePauw University and a Masters Degree in Divinity from Waterloo Lutheran Seminary.

Ed was an ordained Lutheran minister and served in the Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs, IL. He later went into counseling and served in mental health counseling in Springfield, IL for several years. After moving to Lafayette he had been volunteering at a Food Pantry.

He was raised in the Attica First Lutheran Church and after receiving his Divinity Degree became a member of the Lutheran Synod. He enjoyed reading and researching royalty lineage.

He leaves behind his father, Frederick "Fred" Osborne, Attica; a brother, Dennis (Sandy) Osborne, Indianapolis; a niece, Rachel Osborne, Indianapolis; his aunts, Kathy (Ed) Bowen, Betty (Tub) Pearl ,Nancy Osborne and Peggy Anderson, all of Attica; an uncle, Bill Harris, Attica; several cousins. He was preceded in death by several Aunts and Uncles; his grandparents, George and Oveta Osborne and James and Ruth Anderson.

Friends may gather at the Attica First Lutheran Church , 204 E. Pike St., on Sunday, May 29th, from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Bradley Pace officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lafayette Urban Ministry Food Pantry, 600 Ferry St., Lafayette, IN 47901.
