Uncle Jim was certainly a very good uncle to his nephew and godson, James Regis Osial. Uncle Jim was so very happy to serve as Jimmy's godfather in 1984. It was Uncle Jim who sent Jimmy the airplane ticket in 2002 to fly from Connecticut to California to check out west coast schools, and it was Uncle Jim who encouraged Jimmy to apply to Stanford.
