James L. Otto, 67, of Grinnell died on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Taylor House-Unity Point in Des Moines, Iowa.
Sharing of Memories for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021, at noon at Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, located at 135 1st Avenue, in Grinnell. Memorials in Jim’s name may be sent in care of Cox-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 163, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.
James Louis Otto was born on February 14, 1954 to Ferdinand and Eleanor (Grabher) Otto in New York. He served in the Navy from 1973-1976.
He is survived by his children, Michael (Marie Watkins) Otto, James Otto Jr., and Daisy (Nick) Bryan; 14 grandchildren; his mother; two brothers, Freddy and Doug Otto; his significant other, Melinda White and her two children Jean Cruise and David (Bridget) White; and their five children; as well as many dear friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his father.

Just absolutely loved Jim. Fantastic guy and at one time lived with wife and I and I waa his payee. Will be in Grinnell this morning for sure to pay my respects.
