I have fond memories of Jim from Windy City music. I was a teenager, taking guitar lessons there, and Jim was (to me) the friendly, Hip, cool store owner. Super nice guy. In retrospect, he probably wasn´t that many years older than me. But I remember him and the store fondly. I´ve remained a musician to this day, so I consider him an important part of my youth and musical journey. I was a client of Jim's during his Windy City Music days. He was an honest, kind, knowledgeable person, and I really enjoyed working with him.

Time passes so quickly. I still remember Jim my cool cousin, trumpet playing brother and an asset to this world while we had him. Love to the family and friends. Miss you Jim.

Tim has been trying to contact Jim for the past few months at the Empress, when we had no response he started to ask musicians, we just found out this evening. We are so sorry for your loss. He was always ready with a smile, joke or encouragement when you needed it most. He listened to me and talked with me when my father had kidney cancer many years ago.
