There are people who never just live, but burn. The light of this burning is spreading around and help other people move ahead through the darkness and everyday difficulties. Amb. I was shocked and saddened to learn of the recent death of Col Pardew. I had the pleasure of serving as his deputy in two different assignments in Turkey and Germany and was always impressed by his intelligence, poise and sense of humor. May God keep him always and bless him and his family. He was a great man!

The passing of a true Warrior-Diplomat.
In 1998-99, Jim and I worked closely together in support of Special Envoy Dick Holbrooke's effort to bring a peaceful end to the growing tension in Kosovo which ultimately led to the Nato Air Campaign against Serbia. Bulgaria lost one big Friend.
For me Amb. James Pardew has been always one example as a diplomat and as a person. With his high level of morale, discipline and attention to detail.
