I first met Jim in Cat Lo, Viet Nam in 1970 and we were not only Mates we became the best of friends. After my tour I was assigned to the USS Vogelgesang(DD-862) out of Norfolk, Virginia. After Jim's tour was over in 1972 and I had returned from a Med cruise I was on the Fo'c'sle and I looked down on the pier and there was Jim and his wife Phillis. That is a true friend. Even our Mothers became real good friends. mine from Ca. and his from Pa. In fact he invited my Mother on a dependents...
