I really enjoyed my times with Jim. He loved College of Charleston, and was a great fan of our Athletics teams and student-athletes. My deepest condolences to Carolyn and the family for your loss.

I'm so sorry, Carolyn. We have lost a wonderful person! Jim had a positive influence on thousands of people. When I was 30 years old with 4 children, having dropped out of college at 19 to get married, I remarked to Jim that someday I would like to go back to school and graduate. He said "stop talking about it and just do it." I had to relearn precalculus and first year calculus on my own but I eventually retired from the Math Dept. faculty at the CofC having earned a BS, MS and PhD in...

Please accept the condolences of the Byrnes family on the loss of Jim Anderson.

My parents, Jack and Mary Ann Byrnes, have known Jim for many years through parish and school activities at the Church of the Nativity. They deeply admire and respect him.

At the College of Charleston, I took Calculus I and II with Jim. He was certainly a gifted teacher—-creative, imaginative, and very demanding.
