I'm sorry I didn't send my condolences earlier. As a retired member of the WTMJ-TV news dept., I knew Jim well from my years as a photojournalist in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Despite strong competition between our two news operations, Jim never showed any animosity on the job. He had the rare ability to cooperate with the rest of us in complex situations and set-ups without compromising his own assignment. His kind don't come around very often.

Dear Corolyn and family,
My condolences on the passing of such a wonderful soul. I knew Jim since he used to come in my father's (Charlie Sciurba) camera store, Central Film Lab, years ago. I worked as a cameraman and editor at WTMJ and worked with him on occasion in news. My dad always referred to him as "Smiley", since Jim always had a smile on his face. I also was in the Broadcasters Club with him and always enjoyed talking to him. He told me how happy he was living in Waterford...

Carolyn and family:
Sympathies and prayers. As you know, I worked many years with Jim at TV6 and enjoyed every day with him.
He was a great talent, but so funny and easy going. We had a ball every year at Opening Day, eating hot ham, brats, drinking beer, and watching everyone else work.
Jim taught me not to take the job or life so seriously.
He'll be sorely missed.
Thinking of you fondly:
Mike
