Not sure what to say?

Jim Polga was just an amazing human being all around. Personally, he taught me everything I know as a radiologist when I was a resident, and also when I returned to Baystate as an attending radiologist. I mean that professionally, and personally. He was a brilliant imager, a caring doctor to his patients and an exemplary mentor to me as well as generations of Radiology resident colleagues. If you have a good experience as a physician colleague or a patient at Baystate, you can thank Jim Polga...

Dr. Polga was very efficient in his time to this mason to his Dover Rd. home but it will always be a fond memory of mine reflecting on his comparison of the vitality of his patient my mother Mary Craig to that of me. Very sorry for your untimely loss. Bob Craig

To the Polga family, I am sorry for your loss. Jim Polga was a special kind of man. Always welcoming, friendly and ready to help in anyway! Always said hello when you pass him in the hall and asked how you were doing. He brought positively to the halls of Radiology for many years. He taught integrity and strong work ethnic to many radiology technologists, residents and even collegues.

Attended highschool together in Hastings, MN, worked together at Franzmeyers fruit and vegetable stand in Hastings, MN. He was the best man at my wedding in 1962.

I'm so sorry for your loss Kate, Mrs. Polga and family. May he rest in Peace...

Thinking of you all at this difficult time and sending the Polga, Jones, Hinkle families my deepest sympathy in regard to the death of Dr. James Polga. Jim was a dear Minnesota friend who was one of my all time favorite conversationalists. The subjects were: golden gopher sports, books, politics and travel. Most of all, Dr. Jim would help me understand the art of medical terms. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I met Jim polga years ago at the Wesson and Baystate medical center One of the best radiologists,I know We happened to write a couple of papers together He was always ready to go through the X-rays with me ,no matter how busy he was,a great friend ,Tk raman

Kit, I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. Always loved both of you. I hope that you will be comforted by the memories you both shared. God Bless, Ann Macey, RDH

Kit and Jim were renting the house we bought in Longmeadow. They liked the house and the neighborhood, but the house was too small for their family. Luckily for us, a larger house on the same block came on the market and they grabbed it, leaving the smaller one for us. We got to know the Polgas through book club and other activities in this very cohesive neighborhood. A cheerful and kind hearted guy, Jim held out a helping hand to all who needed it. He will be missed by many.
