Jimmy was my best friend at John Burroughs high school. We played in all the school bands together and on many gigs with small groups and big bands.My parents had moved to So. Cal during the middle of the school year and I didn't know anyone. Jim, May and Ben practically adopted me, got me into the Burbank Police Boys band where Jim and Ben taught me how to read music.
