JT passed away September 20, 2024 at home surrounded by family.


JT was born in Plattsburg, MO to Blanch (Hatcher) and James Potter. He graduated from Plattsburg High School and two years of college. After graduation, he joined the Army in 1962, serving three years, then reenlisted into the Army National Guard. JT married Delores Adams on September 10, 1966. She preceeded him in death in 2000.


JT retired from Shamrad Metal Fabricators after 49 1/2 years of service. JT was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Boilermakers Union.


JT is survived by his son, David Stafford; four grandchildren: Heather Daniels (Mike), John Culbertson (Rose), Becky Frazer, and Mike Frazer. Seven great-grandchildren: Andrew, Cody, Jaidyn, Jaxzen, Javaan, Jaztyen, and Oaklan. Four great great grandchildren: Emily, Kenny, Kaytie, and Paisley. JT is also survived by two brothers: Earl and Allen Potter, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


JT was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, his parents, a son, Dennis Stafford, and daughter, Debbie Williams.


Visitation on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 6 pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian burial at 10 am, St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, September 26, 2024. Interment following at Mount Olivet Cemetery.


The family suggests donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
