Not sure what to say?

Auntie Nikki and all the cousins, I just wanted to say I am thinking of you all in this sad time and period of adjustment. Uncle Jim was such a wonderful person; sincere, helpful, darn funny and silly and serious. What a great mix! I will miss him. Hope he and my dad are looking at old movies and having a cold one!

Sometimes we meet people who touch our lives and we remember them with a smile. Jim had a knack of making you laugh and I will always remember him for that. So sorry for your loss

Aunt Nikki, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Growing up, I had little contact with your side of the family, but the times I do remember, I remember very fondly. Now I am sure Uncle Jimmy is singing in heaven.

Was it a house or Alderwoods friendly castle, with the friendly giant living inside Jim Powell, my favourite section was the kitchen. The conversations and the laughs would last till morning many times. The hospitality was second too none. The respect we all had for both of Roger’s parents was the max-100%.Jim will be remembered as a great man and a pillar of the Alderwood community.
Very sorry for your loss

This is King Cole writing with a with a sad feeling of loss...Uncle Jimmy came with some of his siblings to Medicine Hat Alberta to visit my Mom, Flo Cole, his sister in her last days a few years ago, and I will never forget how he put everyone at ease during our dinner and later at the karaoke party where he started everyone on the right foot with his beautiful voice and his kind encouragement.

Big Jim's house rocked the hood, growing up in South Etobicoke it was the only place where the warmth was the fire of music. There would be a rock band playing in his basement a piano playing on the main floor a D.J. mixing for another show, in another room on the same floor, and big Jim would be whistling his favourite tune!!

I wish to express my condolences on the passing of Jim Powell, you always felt welcome at the Powell home by Jim and Nikki, as Rogers long time friend, and as a young man, I still remember calling on him, he wasnt home, but still staying for 4 hours on a friday night along with other guests. Thats because Jims conversation was always intelligent and insightful, his views were truly unique and many times inspiring,. He was a self made man and a true individual and the Powells friendship...
