Not sure what to say?

Just learned of the death of a great sailor patriot and friend. I am deeply saddened by this news as I often wondered what became of Blackie after his retirement. Thank you for all of the course corrections that you provided. They were annoying then but instrumental later in my career.I will never forget you sir.

On today especially, I just wanted to say thanks again to Blackie and all the men and women that allow us to be free. Love you Blackie and Joy. - Nicole

To the many family and friends I send my regards. Thank you James, for your service to this nation and your fellow man.

As the CMC of VA-72, Blackie was as sharp as a sailor could be. Nothing got past him. It was a sad day at his retirement, but this is an even sadder day. He will be missed. Fair Winds Master Chief...
