Not sure what to say?

My grandpa, James Robert Land, wasn't the typical "rocking chair and peppermints in his pocket" type grandpa. He wasn't full of conversation or very expressive of his love, though he had so much love in his heart. He was not a traditional grandpa, but I'm so thankful to be able to have called him mine. To hear about all of the lives he has impacted through his career as a law enforcement officer has been truly amazing. I wish that I could have made more memories with him, but the ones that I...

I will miss you Uncle Jim. We had a lot of good memories. I enjoy watching the old movies of our get togethers that mom took. A lot of fawn memories. You will forever be in my heart. Your favorite niece, Barb

I just wanted to say I worked for Jim at Lacey PD back in the 70's and I appreciate him hiring me. I always enjoyed working with him and being a friend. My best wishes to the family.

It has been a pleasure to know Jim and enjoy his friendship. Our deepest sympathy to Kay and all the family. We will miss him.

Paula and Dick.

Sheriff Bill Wiester (Retired) of Lewis County remembers Jim Land with fond memories. His thoughts are with his family in this time of grief.

Rest in Peace~ You will always be remembered~

Jim, you gave my father a glove box full of traffic tickets as a deputy in Yelm in the 50's; you gave me a lesson in life through your struggles in the late 1970s and a lesson in love in the 1980s. Cheers to you for living a long life well lived, whether it be helping out the O.K. Boys Ranch, or as Mayor of the City of Lacey, and as a veteran of WWII. You were a civic minded man bound to duty and pledged to people and gave us everything you had inside you, including your human side. Rest in...

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

I miss you Dad. You were a wonderful man and I am so proud to call you my father. I love you, Susan
